ABOUT
Evelina Simanavičiūtė is a multidisciplinary artist born in Vilnius, Lithuania, currently based in Klaipėda. Her practice includes painting, drawing, textile, sculpture, and installation, with a strong focus on material sensitivity and process.
Her work explores domestic space, memory, and intimacy, often using familiar objects — such as furniture or interior fragments — as carriers of emotional and psychological tension. These elements function as symbols of home, care, and protection, while simultaneously revealing discomfort, instability, and the ambiguity of personal experience.
Simanavičiūtė works with layering, repetition, and reduction, allowing forms to appear partially erased, fragmented, or transformed. The body is present indirectly, through traces, contours, and gestures rather than explicit representation. A muted, restrained color palette supports a quiet visual language in which softness coexists with unease.
Her practice is research-driven and process-oriented. She selects materials — including acrylic paint, pastel, textile, ceramics, and found or natural elements — in response to each project’s conceptual framework. Through this approach, her work reflects on how memory fades, reshapes itself, and continues to inhabit everyday spaces.
Evelina Simanavičiūtė is a member of LATGA and has received the status of an artist from the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
